“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”1 John 4:12
We often want to see the light or either way others to see our lights. We want to be recognized and acknowledge. But little that we know that before asking for acknowledgement, our Lord God sees us. His light is with us even ours is dimmed. In our low days, God wants us to be in that situation to see the how His love will shine inside our hearts. How much would we choose to remain in his power despite us not seeing our own light?
There are so many situations we seek for perfect relationship driven by expectation from people around us. We wanted security that channels our happiness when we can really trust God about his plans for us. Today, I want to share and say, some given situations where we mostly think that no one can see our light.
You have few friends.
“Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, If anything but death parts you and me.” Ruth 1:16-17
Simply because God has planted the right people to stay in your life. And the good news is you do not need a squad. You only need to have one or two beside you who believes in your kindness, accepted your flaws, supporting your dreams and every day helping you to become a better person. Just like your shadow that will never leave. The less is more, fewer expectations, more chances to grow and develop yourself towards the goals you are setting in your life. Nevermind the others who just want to be updated about what’s up with you. You are too old for that. Do not chase people, they will stay no matter what and I tell you, they would never leave you and you’ll be annoyed with their presence. Invest time with these people, nourish your relationship with the chosen ones, those who are destined to stay.
Let us not settle for having a disposable relationship, talk about things that matter between your closest friends. Correct on another, you are blessed to have people beside you who are concern about your personal development. Do not complicate things in your life, simply love those who are loving you.
You are afraid to be judged.
“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favour and a good name in the sight of God and man.” Proverbs 3:3-4
We are all human. Never forget how you learned adulting from various experiences you had from different situations, all sorts of beliefs, religion, values. The only thing that matter now is you. Your love towards yourself is a love that will save you from all harm and death. Take care of your self. Make sure that your soul is being fed with good things that will shape you every day to become an accountable friend instead of the one who sees fault and judges someone. In a way, you are also tired, scared about being judged regardless of what are your situations. We all have a different battle and God has sent us His word to be guarded every day, with faith we are not any more slaves of what can other people think about you. Meaning, it is okay not to care about how people say about you. Because your security is not with people but with the Lord Jesus.
With LOVE everything is possible. Your light is enough to light others people path too! You are enough! We are somehow feeling that when people judge what we do, our endeavours and our acts that we lost our own light. Do not forget in the midst of darkness even a little dim light can lead you towards the bright way to get out of the dark. Purposely God is making all our light is dim so that we can feel His love even more, that we remain in Him and trust His will instead of our own way.
“Resentment always hurts you more than it does the person you resent. While your offender has probably forgotten the offence and gone on with life, you continue to stew in your pain, perpetuating the past. Listen: those who hurt you in the past cannot continue to hurt you now unless you hold on to the pain through resentment. Your past is past! Nothing will change it. You are only hurting yourself with your bitterness. For your own sake, learn from it, and then let it go.” -Rick Warren
To sum up my thoughts today’s reflection. Know your purpose. Everything on earth has its own purpose including you, your life. I have a friend during college who says, “God I am lost, why did you just come to my life this late.” I told him, “Dude, He was just there beside you all the way.” It is true that sometimes we ignore the presence of the Lord and little that we know that in His presence we do not have to doubt His guide through His words. When you believe in what you are made of and why you exist, the value of your light dim or bright. Praises and the world validation does not count but only the relationship you have with the creator does! My light is not always bright, I am contented still for some days it can be dim and little.

I am not a very religious person, but this is a very impowering post ❤
My husband is the same and it is totally fine, the thing is we should all find our balance in life, we should not be scared to take responsibility of what we stand for and what we believe and not. This way we can see life from a bigger perspective. Religion isn’t the answer too but your heart matters. Thank you for reading me Teresa!
